We Have A Plan!

The Long Range Planning Committee is pleased to present the First Baptist Church Long Range Plan (LRP).  This plan was presented to and affirmed by the church in the July 17th regular business meeting.    The LRP retains the ALIVE strategy and acknowledges our primary commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ:

The Great Commission

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20 NIV 1984

The Plan also reaffirms our Mission Statement and Core Values:
Alive in the power of God!

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Ephesians 2:4-5 NIV 1984
A.L.I.V.E.

Adore God (Core Values “Worship” and “Prayer”)
Love all people (Core Value “God’s Family / Relationships”)
Invest in God’s work (Core Value “Mobilized Laity)
Value God’s word (Core Value “Bible Knowledge”)
Expand God’s kingdom (Core Value “Evangelism / World Missions”)

The LRP also lays out a 10 year broad strategy and establishes 3 key areas of Emphasis in the short term.  These are:

1.     Discipleship and Outreach – utilizing the “Becoming a Disciple-Maker” program
2.     Debt Elimination to remove this obstacle hindering our mission to reach and disciple those who don’t’ know the Lord Jesus.
3.     Efficiencies in Church Operations to make the most of the resources of which the Lord entrusts us.

We invite you to review and become familiar with the plan and request that you pray about where you fit into the Lord’s mission!
